Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch Unified Communication is a suite of four integrated communications applications for enterprises. These next-generation, IP-based applications provide unified messaging, audio and data conferencing, personal routing, instant messaging, sophisticated softphone capabilities, universal directory access, presence information and more. These capabilities can be integrated into a company's existing environment to optimise business processes and business applications already in place.

My Messaging

My Messaging provides a single mailbox for all communication media (voice, email, fax, etc.), while leveraging the company's existing email server and client (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino). It provides advanced features to improve productivity such as click to reply, unified directory access, automated attendant services, remote access, and voice access to email.

  • Message management, including class of message, compound multimedia messages, etc.
  • Voice messages can be played/recorded to/from a multimedia PC or any phone set using a variety of interfaces (Web, Outlook TM, Lotus Notes TM)
  • Text-to-speech capability, with automatic language recognition of the email body
  • Flexible notification mechanism for mobile phones through Short Message Service

My Phone

This PC telephony application links the desktop PC and the telephone, improving productivity with its one-click call capabilities and advanced features such as Unified Directory. My Phone integrates seamlessly with the most popular work-group applications (Microsoft Exchange/Outlook TM, Lotus Notes/Domino TM) and is easily integrated with business applications.

My Phone is available in two versions:

Web Softphone: This Web-based PC telephony application is a real thin client with a zero footprint. It offers a rich range of telephony services, multi-service universal directory access, directory integration (LDAP, CGI), desktop integration with popular work-group applications; it supports any operating system on the client PC, offers VoIP on multimedia PC, etc.

Alcatel-Lucent 4980 Softphone: This thick client, a fully featured softphone, won the "World Class Award 2002." As an option of the My Phone application, this softphone offers all features of the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise and Open Telephony Server, including telephony, voice mail, buddy list, VoIP on multimedia PC, multi-device handling, etc. It offers easy client-level coupling with business applications.

My Assistant

My Assistant provides personal call routing for each employee. Functions include call screening, call prioritisation and follow-me capabilities for use when away from the office. Using a simple user interface, employees define where they can be reached and which calls should go through or be forward to voice mail.

  • Personalised routing through a simple user interface, i.e., a Web application from a workstation, or a voice interface from any phone
  • Follow-me capabilities to schedule the automatic forwarding of calls while away from the office
  • Filtering -- full control of which calls get through and which go to voice mail or to an assistant

My Teamwork

My Teamwork improves team collaboration by combining the power of instant messaging and presence information with the effectiveness of voice and data conferencing. At the click of a button, employees can move from a chat session to an audio and data conference

  • Buddy list and presence information, with the possibility to initiate audio and data conferencing
  • Instant messaging, and the ability to escalate to voice and data conferencing
  • Scheduled or ad hoc conferences, both of which support application sharing
  • Web cast (webinar) capability
