
Alcatel-Lucent Open Interfaces
Overview
Alcatel-Lucent offers a powerful suite of open interfaces, which enable the easy integration of Alcatel-Lucent's products with customer business applications. Alcatel-Lucent's XML Web Services and Alcatel-Lucent's APIs are used to handle user interactions and device management for Alcatel-Lucent communication platforms.
To assist developers in using the interfaces, Alcatel-Lucent provides extensive support through its Alcatel-Lucent Application Partner Program, offering participants:
- Easy access to software development kits
- Comprehensive technical support
- Testing and certification services
Alcatel-Lucent XML Web Services
Alcatel-Lucent's XML Web Services provide the link between the world of telephony and that of the Web, connecting Alcatel-Lucent's communication services to customer business applications. These open interfaces are designed for use on Alcatel-Lucent's communication platforms: Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office and Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise.
Alcatel-Lucent's XML Web Services are designed to:
- Ease integration across heterogeneous vendor environments
- Reduce the time and complexity of interfacing
- Ease creation of new services and applications
- Reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) by minimising installation time and administrative costs
List of XML Web Services:
- My IP Touch XML Services: These services enable an application to interact with Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX users through their IP Touch terminals. They allow the application to build screens and collect user actions. Applications are reachable from the IP Touch screen, providing easy access.
- My Management Web Services*: These services are used to manage Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX configuration data, particularly information about subscribers and their phone sets.
- My Phone Web Services: These include many telephony services including detailed information about current incoming call, personal phone book management, phone set management, universal directory access (UDA), nomad mode, call log, etc.
- My Messaging Web Services*: These services are used to interact with a voice from a 3rd party application, the voice media located or a voice mail server is played or recorded on or from any devices (Business phone, external PSTN phone).
- My Assistant Web Services*: Provides the ability to set and review the rules that route incoming calls for an Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise user.

Alcatel-Lucent's APIs
The Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise provides standard CTI interfaces, through its TAPI Premium Server and TSAPI server. These APIs are available through the Alcatel-Lucent Application Partner Program, which provides software development kits for their implementation.
- TAPI Premium Server: The Alcatel-Lucent TAPI Premium Server enables any TAPI-compatible Windows application to access the telephony services of the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise system. It is based on a client/server architecture that is designed to interface with office applications.
