Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista Network Management

Overview

The Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista is a comprehensive set of network management applications that are designed for IP Telephony and IP Networking and which simplify the management of Alcatel-Lucent networking devices. OmniVista solutions allow managers to monitor network activity, configure and troubleshoot each device, as well as manage an entire network from a single platform.

IP Telephony

The Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista 4760 provides network management for the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office and the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise. An innovative, modular platform, the OmniVista 4760 provides a suite of network management applications. This powerful Java-based tool is accessed through a Web browser and provides centralised management.

IP Networking

The OmniVista provides network management for Alcatel-Lucent's IP Networking products, including OmniSwitch, OmniAccess and OmniStack. The OmniVista features a true client / server architecture that allows multiple users to access its services simultaneously. It delivers network-level management while providing access to various element managers.

OmniVista offers unified management, network-wide visibility, element management, VLAN management, policy-based QoS, centralised management of secure switch access, quarantine capabilities to prevent security breaches by isolating potential threats, all within a scalable architecture. Plus, OmniVista is easy to learn, saving your network managers time and improving service levels.

OmniVista products for IP Networking products include:

• OmniVista 2500, which is the core NMS application for network-wide management
• OmniVista 2700, which consists of supplemental applications for extended capabilities and automation of complex security settings
• OmniVista 2200, which consists of element management applications for accessing specific, individual network devices
